Description “Gospel Songs for Solo Piano” is a collection of seven pieces of varying style and difficulty. The album begins with a simple arrangement of “Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee” (Beethoven) followed by “Sweet Hour of Prayer.” “Swinging Gospel” is a set of three songs that may be played as one arrangement or each piece performed separately. They include “Old Time Religion,” “What a Friend We Have in Jesus,” and “When the Saints Go Marching In.” Each done in “Swing” style requiring strong skills in Jazz performance. “Who At My Door Is Standing” is a flowing arrangement of the standard hymn and followed by “When They Ring Those Golden Bells” and “I Must Tell Jesus.” The next arrangement is another combination of three songs that may be played as a single arrangement or each piece may be performed separately. The titles include “Throw Out the Life-Line,” “All To Jesus I Surrender,” and “Jesus, Keep Me Near the Cross.” The album concludes with a lyrical arrangement of “Beneath The Cross of Jesus.” All are suitable for religious services and concerts. The skill level varies but requires fairly advanced skills for some pieces.
