"The Song of Ruth" uses the Biblical text of Ruth 1: 16-17. The words are spoken by Ruth to her mother-in-law (who encourages Ruth to move on with her life after Ruth's husband died). The theme is used in modern weddings as it relates to the bride and groom and is appropriate as such because of its deeper meaning. This original song is for vocal solo with piano and includes both high and low voice music and is appropriate in any vocal concert, church service, wedding, recital, etc. It is medium difficulty for vocalist and pianist and somewhat contemporary in structure and harmony.
